I wanted to thank you all again for the amazing service we received for suite 36 for the Le Mans Series weekend. Please forward this letter to Steven Saunders and Sean Valentine for me.

Well, where do I start?

This was an unusual event for you, in that we were providing a high standard of team catering for the weekend but using the suite. I’ve arranged this many times before when working for teams, using motorhome units and freelance caterers, but of course you normally work to a different format and values. We all wondered if we’d be able to make this work. The team’s smart new paddock unit was away on another event.

Elaine was very responsive to the situation once I’d explained what was needed in detail, and over the process of a couple of proposals we nailed down the specification and costs to everyone’s agreement. I was able to report back to the client with menu plans and costs that were acceptable, whereas the corporate hospitality menus and costs would not have won us the work.

Your team were all eager to please and so they did, too. Rob came over and started us off with full cooked breakfast at 7.00 each day. Ian and Vince particularly were real stars, making sure we had the right food at the right time for all three long days, and regularly calling in to check.

They were also very understanding indeed when the team delayed their barbecue supper by one and a half hours on Saturday night, owing to an engineering problem in the pit garage. (Our idea of a nice evening team barbecue on the terrace ended up with the mechanics blundering around in the dark, but they were happy to have finished the work first.) It’s a mark of real professionalism that they were so helpful with this, thank you Aspire. My husband Paul and I were on our knees with the hours we were manning/hosting the suite, and your people were there even earlier. Sandra was our member of staff and I don’t know what we would have done without her. She kept the suite spotless, all equipment ready, great with guests and was just on top of the whole weekend. Again, a real star. We needed someone who could just make it right, and not be thrown by the different type of event, and she really excelled.

The team was very pleased indeed with the food and service, from full cooked breakfast through to their barbecue and then lasagne in the garage on Sunday. Their faces when they saw the barbecue food was a picture! I’ve had a big thank you from the team management. The two special diet guys were delighted. In fact, one told us he did not have room for all we were offering but that we’d really looked after him well!

Take a bow for some really exceptional service and client understanding. It’s been a tough year and it’s good that we can pull together and win new business like this. I’ve had a guarded provisional booking for British Grand Prix next year as a result, of course depending on all the usual factors. I have also been asked for costs for other work abroad with the same team. Please do ensure all your staff see how pleased we are. Was it all excellent? It exceeded expectations, excellent, with everyone so motivated to make it right. A mark of a company that’s got it right.

Thank you for making this event such a success for me, and I wish you all the best with your event in Abu Dhabi.
